For students discerning a release, transitioning ministries, or resolving conflict before departure.

At Selah Seminary, we believe every transition should reflect clarity, honor, alignment, and spiritual maturity. Whether a student feels led by God into a new assignment or is navigating conflict or tension, we desire for every departure to be handled with healing, integrity, and blessing.

All formal transition steps are overseen by the Vice President of Selah Seminary, with a final conversation from the President before the departure is complete.

1. Pray and Discern Thoroughly

Students begin by:

• Spending time in prayer and/or fasting
• Examining motives and emotions
• Discerning whether the desire to leave is connected to calling, season shift, conflict, or offense

Purpose: Ensures the decision is spiritually grounded, not reactive.

2. Contact the Vice President to Request a Private Meeting

Students begin the transition process by sending a private message to the Vice President:

“I am prayerfully discerning my next steps and would like to schedule a meeting regarding a potential transition.”

Purpose: Prevents silent withdrawal or abrupt exits and establishes transparency.

3. Attend a Discernment Meeting With the Vice President

During this meeting, the Vice President will:

• Listen without judgment
• Clarify the reason for transition
• Ask reflective questions to ensure spiritual alignment
• Identify unresolved concerns or emotional wounds
